Luigi’s Mansion was first released in 2001 on the Nintendo GameCube, and was a launch title if I remember correctly (meaning: it was available when the GameCube was first released).
Sensible Software‘s brilliant Cannon Fodder is possibly their finest hour.
From the hilarious intro song, to the compelling action of the main game – Cannon Fodder is about as much fun as computerised war, with little titchy men and a mouse could possibly be.
Over-the-top, first-person, survival horror blasting action, for one or two players!
House of the Dead III first came out in arcades in 2002, followed by XBox and other home versions, in 2003.
Fellow blogger, and games mutha-lover, Mr. Biffo, has launched a Kickstarter Appeal for Digitiser: The Show, which can be found here:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1534877882/digitiser-the-show-proper-retro-gaming-tv
If you don’t know: Digitiser is a long-running games-based publication that first began its life on Channel 4 Teletext (back in the olden days), before later evolving into a rather excellent website.
Digitiser is well-written, informative, funny, poignant at times, populated by a plethora of bizarre-but-hilarious characters, and also – it seems – branching out into more televisual style entertainment.
Covering modern and retro gaming, Mr. Biffo says of it: “This won’t be the kind of cheap-and-cheerful fare you typically find on YouTube; Digitiser The Show is a full-blooded gaming series, utilising professionals with decades of broadcasting experience to bring audiences something that will stand out as high quality – while being utterly unique, completely bonkers, and hugely ambitious.”
The guest line-up looks fantastic in itself. We think that this is gonna be big…

Williams‘ brilliant 1990 arcade hit, Smash TV, is an insane overhead shooter with a wicked sense of humour.
You play a contestant in a futuristic game show – one in which you must kill to survive. And you have to kill a lot of people, robots, monsters, and snakes, to make it to the end.
Hugely fun, satirical 2015 indie game about playing a broken RPG.
The Magic Circle cleverly mixes modern high res graphics with retro DOS-style graphics, and is something of a first on that front.
Screenshots of every level of Hewson’s 1984 platform-gaming classic, Technician Ted. And what a tough game it is! It’s playable and very colourful, though.
The 1995 PlayStation version of Andy Davidson‘s classic Worms is undoubtedly the best version of the game ever made. Ocean and Team 17 collaborated on this release.
It is an incredible multiplayer game, for up to four people.
