Developed by Sphere Inc. and published by Spectrum HoloByte (MicroProse in Europe), Falcon 3.0 is a DOS-only combat flight sim from 1991. It is the third entry in the F-16 Fighting Falcon series of games.

Dark Side, PC

The 1988 MS-DOS version of the classic Freescape game, Dark Side, is arguably the best version of the game available, since it runs fast and the controls are very responsive.

Incentive Software published the game in Europe and Microprose published it in North America.

Colonization, Amiga

Also known as Sid Meier’s Colonization, this turn-based strategy game is based on the European colonisation of the New World, starting in 1492 and lasting until 1850. It’s essentially an updated and more-developed version of Sid Meier‘s previous game, Civilization. Which is no bad thing since Civilization is a superb, classic strategy game.

A 1994 re-imagining of the Dennis Caswell C64 classic, Impossible Mission, which should have been great, but due to some poor decisions taken by the developers it falls well short of the mark.

It feels like the developers haven’t properly understood what made the original Impossible Mission good in the first place…

Dark Side is the second Freescape game from Major Developments and was published by Incentive Software (Microprose in the US).

Freescape was one of the earliest (if not THE earliest) 3D game engine and was used to make a series of significant games in the mid Eighties.
