Crysis, PC

Crysis is a futuristic first-person shooter developed by German company Crytek and published by Electronic Arts in 2007. It is the first game in the Crysis series and is known as a game that – at the time of its original release – had relatively high-end system requirements. It’s also quite similar to Crytek‘s previous game, Far Cry, in that it is predominantly combat based in a jungle environment, with vehicles like jeeps, trucks, cars, hovercraft and boats that can be commandeered and driven.

Toki, Atari ST

The Atari ST version of the 1989 arcade platform game, Toki, was developed and published by Ocean Software in 1991. And it is a decent adaptation of the arcade game, but with a reduced colour palette and screen size.

Unreal Tournament, PC

Unreal Tournament is a famous, futuristic first-person shooter, developed by Epic Games and Digital Extremes and first published by GT Interactive in 1999. The game is powered by the first version of the Unreal Engine (which was created for Unreal) and it helped popularise arena-based, multiplayer deathmatching, alongside competitors such as Quake II and Quake III Arena.

Ristar is a cute and colourful scrolling 2D platform game developed and published by Sega in 1995. It first came out for the Megadrive/Genesis and was later ported to the Game Gear, but it was only ever initially released on Sega console hardware.

World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, Megadrive/Genesis

World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck was developed and published by Sega, exclusively for the Megadrive/Genesis in 1992. It’s a platform game where players can play single-player as either Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck, or can play cooperatively together while sharing a set pool of lives. Other Disney characters, such as Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, Goofy, and Huey, Dewey and Louie also make appearances.

Nobby the Aardvark was the final Commodore 64 release for Thalamus – a company that made its name on the system – way back in 1993. It’s a fun platform/maze game with an energetic lead character and was developed by Genesis Software, with Thalamus producing.
