The original Amiga version of Cinemaware‘s The Three Stooges was released in 1987.
With ‘mini games’ inspired by classic Three Stooges films, it features Larry, Moe and Curly on a quest to save an orphanage from an evil landlord.

The King of Chicago, Amiga
The King of Chicago is a strategic gangster simulator, released by Cinemaware in 1987. And – while “gangster simulator” might sound bad – the game is full of dark humour and is something of a satire, so is not to be taken too seriously on that front.
Bruce Lee, Atari 8-bit
Ron J. Fortier‘s and Kelly Day‘s classic Bruce Lee is part platform game, part beat ’em up.
In it you assume the role of Bruce, fighting his way through a number of simple puzzles. The basic aim is to collect the lanterns so that they open up new exits.
International Karate, Atari 8-bit
International Karate was released in 1986 by System 3 Software.
It was written by Archer MacLean and was one of the first beat ’em ups – ever – to actually feel like a decent game to play and not a ridiculous slug-fest.
BMX Kidz, Commodore 64
Firebird Software released BMX Kidz for the Commodore 64 in 1987.
Bonanza Bros., Megadrive/Genesis
Bonanza Bros. is a split-screen, two-player, side-scrolling action game that first appeared in arcades in 1990. A number of home conversions followed although none were better than this Sega Megadrive/Genesis version which was released in 1991.
Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, PC
This 2002 sequel to Serious Sam is very similar to the first game. The first level even has the same monsters, but does blast through them quickly to get to the new stuff. And there is quite a bit of new stuff. Weapons, environments, enemies, bosses, et cetera.
Serious Sam: The First Encounter, PC
As ‘generic’ first-person shooters go, Serious Sam is up there with the best of them.
And – let’s face it – the market is flooded with generic first-person shooters…
Blood, PC
Monolith‘s 1997 shooter – Blood – is a first-person satire of every horror movie you ever saw, and also a few that you probably didn’t.
Swords and Sorcery, Amstrad CPC
This Amstrad CPC conversion of Swords and Sorcery by PSS is even better than the ZX Spectrum original. The graphics are slightly better, if anything.
