SonSon II, PC Engine
SonSon II is the 1989 sequel to Capcom‘s 1984 arcade game, SonSon, and was developed by NEC Avenue and released exclusively for the PC Engine. Once again it is loosely based on the adventures of the “Monkey King” as popularised by the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West.
Zorro, Commodore 64
Zorro (Spanish for ‘fox’) is an 8-bit platform game developed by Datasoft and published by US Gold in 1985. It was written by James Garon, with graphics by Kelly Day, and is based on a fictional character created by American writer Johnston McCulley.
Ion Fury, PC
Ion Fury is a cyberpunk-themed first-person shooter, developed by Voidpoint and published by 3D Realms in 2019. It is a prequel to the 2016 game, Bombshell.
Ion Fury runs on a modified version of Ken Silverman‘s Build Engine and is the first original commercial game to use the Build Engine in twenty years.
Contra 4, Nintendo DS
Contra 4 was developed by WayForward Technologies and published by Konami for the Nintendo DS in 2007. It is a direct sequel to Contra III on the SNES, made in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Contra series.

Nosferatu, Super Nintendo
Nosferatu is a Prince of Persia-style platform game developed and published by SETA Corporation for the Super Nintendo in 1994. As SNES games go, it’s a pretty obscure title that not many people got to play at the time, but is worth unearthing and playing now if you like this type of game.
Benefactor, Amiga CD32
Benefactor is an unusual platform/puzzle game developed for the Amiga by Swedish team Digital Illusions CE and published in 1994 by Psygnosis. It could be described as a “miniature Flashback“, because it has similar game mechanics to that game, but tinier graphics.
Judge Dredd, Game Gear
This 1995 Game Gear Judge Dredd game is based on the film of the same name starring Sylvester Stallone. It was developed by Probe Software and published by Acclaim Entertainment.
