Soulcalibur IV, PlayStation 3
The fourth Soulcalibur game was once again developed by Project Soul for Namco. It was first released in 2008 for the PS3 and XBox 360, through Namco Bandai Games.
Call of Duty 3, PlayStation 3
The PlayStation 3 version of Treyarch‘s Call of Duty 3 was first released on 17th November 2006 in North America; in PAL regions on 23rd March 2007, and in Japan in 14th June 2007. It is an enhanced port of the PlayStation 2 original, with more detail in the models and environments.
Golden Axe: Beast Rider, PlayStation 3
Golden Axe: Beast Rider was developed by Secret Level, Inc. and published for the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 by Sega in 2008. What initially drew me to this game was the fact that it was 18-rated, in an age when few games are. I wondered why it was an 18. I also wondered if it was worthy of the Golden Axe name.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, PlayStation 3
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is a fighting-based action game developed by Raven Software and published by Activision in 2006. In it you control a team of four Marvel superheroes, chosen from a pool of 23 playable characters (not all of which are available from the start – you must unlock some of them), and going up against the forces of Doctor Doom.
Persona 5, PlayStation 3
Persona 5 was developed by “P-Studio” and was published by Atlus in Japan and North America, Deep Silver in PAL territories, and Sega everywhere else, in 2016. It is a Role-Playing Game set in contemporary Japan, featuring monsters, the occult, and the supernatural. Oh, and turn-based combat (but don’t let that put you off).
Tekken 6, PlayStation 3
Namco‘s Tekken 6 was released first – as an arcade game – in 2007, and then later released as an enhanced version on PlayStation 3 and XBox 360, in 2009.
Dark Souls, PlayStation 3
Considered by many to be a masterpiece of video game design, Dark Souls is an action-based fantasy role-playing game, and was developed by From Software and first published by Namco Bandai Games in 2011.
Dark Souls was so successful, in fact, that it created a succession of similar games, called ‘Souls-likes‘. Not many games can claim to have created a whole sub-genre on its own, but this game did.
Fallout: New Vegas: Lonesome Road, PC
Lonesome Road is the fourth and final story-based DLC for the classic RPG/shooter, Fallout: New Vegas, and was first released in September 2011. It’s meant for players who are level 25 or higher and begins with you being contacted by the original Courier Six – a man called Ulysses – who promises to tell you important information about the Platinum Chip and why he refused to deliver it.
Fallout: New Vegas: Old World Blues, PC
Old World Blues was the third story-based DLC to be released for Fallout: New Vegas and first came out on 19th July 2011. It is definitely the weirdest and funniest of the FNV DLCs and contains some hilarious dialogue, bizarre enemies, and strange settings, and it is considered by many Fallout: New Vegas players to be the best of the DLCs (I’d disagree, though – I think Dead Money is better).
