Also known as “Carmageddon: Total Destruction Racing 2000” or “Carmageddon 3: TDR 2000” in North America, Carmageddon TDR 2000 was not developed by the same team who made the first two Carmageddon games, but an Australian developer called Torus Games. As you might have worked out from the game’s title, it was originally released in the year 2000.

Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now, PC
Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now is the 1998 sequel to the excellent Carmageddon. Although it was developed by the same team who made the first game (Stainless Software), and although it’s still fun to play to a certain degree, in my opinion it’s not a patch on the original.
Carmageddon, PC
Carmageddon is a notorious vehicular racing/combat game developed by Stainless Software and published by Sales Curve Interactive for MS-DOS PCs in 1997.
It was originally meant to be a game based on the Mad Max series of films. When that didn’t happen the developers then bought the license to the infamous Roger Corman/Paul Bartel film Death Race 2000, but they later decided to drop it and create their own IP, eventually coming up with the title “Carmageddon“.
Doom 64, Nintendo 64
Developed by Midway Studios San Diego and published by Midway Games in 1997, Doom 64 is a sequel to Doom II that contains a single-player campaign, but no multiplayer.
In total there are 28 campaign levels and four secret levels. Monster and weapon graphics have been redesigned and are unique to Doom 64.
Doom, PC
This is the 2016 version of Doom, sometimes referred to as “Doom 4“, because it is essentially the fourth iteration of the classic id Software first-person shooter.
And: it really is quite something…
Heretic II, PC
Heretic II is the de-facto sequel to Heretic, developed by Raven Software and published by Activision in 1998. It is a third-person fantasy action game that uses a modified version of the Quake II engine.
Heretic II sees the return of Corvus in a new adventure in the land of Parthoris. Upon arriving in Parthoris Corvus discovers that the town has been swept with a mysterious plague, so he sets out to investigate. He soon wishes he hadn’t as he discovers that he too is infected, so embarks on a quest to cure himself. This takes him through a variety of different environments, all filled with dangerous traps and monsters.
Hexen: Beyond Heretic, PC
Hexen is the 1995 MS-DOS-based sequel to Heretic and is another fantasy-themed first-person shooter utilising the Doom engine. Or at least: a modified version of the Doom engine. It was again developed by Raven Software and published by id Software, and John Romero once again acted as producer of the game.
Project Firestart, Commodore 64
Developed by Dynamix and published by Electronic Arts in 1988, Project Firestart is a science fiction survival horror game set on a research station orbiting Saturn’s moon, Titan, in 2061. It is considered to be one of the first survival horror games ever made, and is often cited as pioneering many conventions of the genre.
Splatterhouse 3, Megadrive/Genesis
Splatterhouse 3 takes place five years after the events of Splatterhouse 2 and is another horror-themed beat ’em up with gruesome enemies and bosses, except this time with slightly different gameplay.
Splatterhouse 2, Megadrive/Genesis
The official sequel to Namco‘s classic Splatterhouse was released exclusively for the Sega Megadrive/Genesis in 1992; it did not appear in arcades, like the original.
