Rainbow Islands, Game Boy Color

Rainbow Islands on the Game Boy Color was ported by Dreams Co., Ltd. and published by TDK Mediactive in 2001. From what I can tell it was only released in Europe, which – considering it was created by a Japanese developer – is a little strange.

The Grinch, Game Boy Color

Developed by KCE Nagoya and published by Konami in 2000, The Grinch is an action maze game for the Game Boy Color, based on the Dr. Seuss book, and the film (starring Jim Carrey), “How The Grinch Stole Christmas“. Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible II, Game Boy Color

Last Bible II was originally released in Japan in 1993 for the original B&W Game Boy, with the Game Boy Color version coming out in 1999, some six years later. Neither version was ever officially released in the West, but there is an English fan translation for the Game Boy Color version, which is what I’m showing here.

Kirby’s Dream Land 2 DX, Game Boy Color

This is a fan-made ROM hack, first released in May 2023 by “kkzero“, of the Super Game Boy-enhanced Kirby’s Dream Land 2 that converts the game for use on the Game Boy Color. And it certainly does this great game justice and really makes those colours pop! In fact: it is much more colourful, and looks even better, than the Super Game Boy version. So much so that it is definitely the best way to play Kirby’s Dream Land 2, IMHO.
