Utopia is probably the first ever Real-Time Strategy game ever made. It was designed by Don Daglow and was published exclusively for the Intellivision by Mattel in 1981.

Pikmin, GameCube
Pikmin was released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2001 and was an instant hit with gamers.
Designed and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, the first game in the Pikmin series introduces Captain Oilmar, an alien who crash lands on a mysterious planet and where he befriends small creatures called Pikmin who help him rebuild his ship.
Attack of the Mutant Penguins, Atari Jaguar
Attack of the Mutant Penguins was developed by Sunrise Games and released on the Atari Jaguar in 1995. A PC MS-DOS version followed a year later, in 1996.

Dune II: The Battle For Arrakis, Amiga
The Amiga version of Westwood Studios‘ classic Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game, Dune II, came out in 1993 – not long after the MS-DOS version.
SimCity 2000, PC
The very first version of SimCity 2000 was released for Apple Macintosh by Maxis in 1993, followed soon after by a PC MS-DOS version.

Realtime Games‘ 1988 hit, Carrier Command, is a compelling mixture of 3D simulation and real-time strategy.
In it you take control of a futuristic, robotic aircraft carrier and must work your way through an island archipelago, taking control of each island and competing against a rival carrier.
