Lords of the Rising Sun, Amiga

This 1989 release from Cinemaware is probably one of the least played Amiga games ever made.

It is based around historic (12th Century) Japanese warfare, with you playing one of two famous generals (Yoritomo or Yoshitsune) fighting to unify (pacify; subjugate) Japan under one rule.

Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon, Commodore 64

The Commodore 64 version of Cinemaware‘s Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon is the version to play in my opinion – the earlier Amiga version of this excellent fantasy adventure game is uncharacteristically poor in terms of presentation.

Set in a Cold War type scenario, S.D.I. pits East against West in a fight for dominance in space.

Vagrant Story, PlayStation

Vagrant Story is an action/RPG released by Square in 2000 for the PlayStation. Some people rate it as one of Square‘s best games of all time. Which is saying something.

Far Cry 2, PC

Far Cry 2 first came out in 2008 and is a first-person shoot ’em up set in a war-torn, fictitious African country. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal.

The game mixes open world exploration with brutal violence, best-in-class combat, and also showcases many exciting action game concepts – such as great vehicle use and a large arsenal of weapons to choose from.
