Zarlor Mercenary is a single or multiplayer vertically-scrolling “bullet hell” shooter that was developed by Epyx and released exclusively for the Atari Lynx in 1990. The game plays in landscape (horizontal) format, and the background scrolls horizontally too.

Switchblade II, Atari Lynx
Switchblade II is a platform action game that originated on the Amiga; was developed by Gremlin Graphics, and published for the Atari Lynx by Atari Corporation in 1992. It is similar in some respects to Capcom‘s Strider, although the main character – Hiro – isn’t quite as dynamic as Strider Hiryu. The first Switchblade wasn’t released for the Lynx – just the sequel was.

Developed by Brian A. Rice, Inc. and released by Atari Corporation in 1992, Lynx Casino is a compendium of gambling games joined together by a man walking over a gaudy carpet in a virtual casino. Those who’ve wandered through any of the vast casinos in Las Vegas will know how lurid the carpets can be, and the graphic designers who worked on this at least got that part right…
Turbo Sub, Atari Lynx
This 1991 release from Atari Corporation is a conversion of relatively obscure arcade game from 1985, and it is a decent game on the Atari Lynx, with excellent graphics and absorbing gameplay. It was developed for the Lynx by NuFX.
Turbo Sub is a fast-moving first person shooter in which you pilot a futuristic attack submarine and must fight off an alien force attacking the Earth.
Batman Returns, Atari Lynx
Batman Returns on the Atari Lynx was first published by Atari Corporation in 1992. It’s a scrolling action game that sadly lacks fun and playability.
Basketbrawl, Atari Lynx
Basketbrawl on the Atari Lynx is a 1992 conversion of an original Atari 7800 game, first released in 1990. It is a ‘no-holes-barred’ basketball game were you can attack opposition players while trying to win a tournament and become “the baddest gang in town“.

Basketbrawl was developed and published by Atari Corporation in 1990, for the Atari 7800. It’s a one or two-player tournament basketball game in which you can assault the other players (even your own teammates), in order to cause mayhem on the court and to try to gain the upper hand.
Radar Lock, Atari 2600
Radar Lock is an air combat shoot ’em up written by Doug Neubauer and published by Atari Corporation in 1989. The game is basically an After Burner derivative that uses a modified version of the engine used in Neubauer‘s previous Atari 2600 game, Solaris.
Solaris, Atari 2600
Solaris is a space combat game designed and developed by Doug Neubauer and published by Atari Corporation in 1986. It is supposedly a sequel to Star Raiders, and does contain similar elements, but features a third-person viewpoint this time, rather than first-person. Solaris is one of the most technically-impressive games on the Atari 2600 and is a far cry from the early games released for the system.
Paperboy, Atari Lynx
The 1990 Atari Lynx version of Paperboy is pretty good in terms of looks and gameplay. It’s not perfect, but the small screen doesn’t hurt the game too badly. When blown-up the screenshots look a bit indistinct, but during play the visuals work fine.
