Bonanza Bros. is a split-screen, two-player, side-scrolling action game that first appeared in arcades in 1990. A number of home conversions followed although none were better than this Sega Megadrive/Genesis version which was released in 1991.

Ballblazer, Atari 7800
Lucasfilm Games’ brilliant futuristic sports sim, Ballblazer, was converted to the Atari 7800 in late 1984.
As a ‘no-nonsense’, one-on-one ball game there is little better, in terms of video games, and this Atari 7800 version is one of the fastest and smoothest around.
Robin Hood: Legend Quest, Amiga
I’ve no idea why Codemasters changed the title, but this is Super Robin Hood on the Amiga – the classic 8-bit game by the Oliver Twins – except under a different name.
Super Robin Hood, NES
This excellent Nintendo Entertainment System version of Codemasters‘ Super Robin Hood was developed in the late Eighties, before the 16-bit versions (which are somewhat different to the classic 8-bit originals).
Super Robin Hood, Commodore 64
This Commodore 64 version of the Oliver Twins‘ classic platforms and ladders game, Super Robin Hood, first came out in 1987.
It was programmed by Delvin Sorrell, with graphics by James Wilson and music by David Whittaker.
Ant Attack, Commodore 64
The ZX Spectrum original of Ant Attack was so good that it spawned a decent 1984 Commodore 64 version, by Paul Fik and Bitterne Software.
Combat Lynx, Amstrad CPC
The Amstrad CPC version of Combat Lynx looks a bit like the BBC version (ie. chunky), but is thankfully more colourful – and more playable.
Combat Lynx, BBC Micro
Combat Lynx on the BBC Micro is a bit gaudy, compared to other versions, and that’s probably down to the fact that – in this screen mode – the BBC can only display four colours.

Ron Jeff‘s Commodore 64 conversion of Mike Richardson‘s ZX Spectrum helicopter sim is actually pretty good.
Cavelon, ZX Spectrum
A conversion of the obscure Jetsoft arcade game, Cavelon is a simple but challenging maze game where you play a knight trying to collect the pieces of a door to create the exit to the next level.
