Rygar is a side-scrolling fantasy action game first released into arcades by Tecmo in 1986. In the original Japanese version of the game (called “Argos no Senshi“) the protagonist was called “The Legendary Warrior” and the main villain was called Rygar, but Western versions of the game switched that to make the player character be called Rygar instead. Which subsequently stuck.

Raiden, Atari Jaguar
Possibly the only good vertically-scrolling shooter on the Atari Jaguar, Raiden is a conversion of the 1990 Tecmo arcade game, but with a horizontal screen instead of a vertical one. The game was ported to the Jaguar by British company Imagitech Design and published by Atari Corporation in 1994.

Developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo in 2004, Ninja Gaiden is a continuation of the famous 1990s Ninja Gaiden series, only this time in third-person 3D.

A classic platform game from 1984, Tehkan‘s Bomb Jack is a colourful collect ’em up, with bombs that must be collected in the right order, to get the full bonus.
Mighty Bomb Jack, Atari ST
This great little platform game is actually a conversion of a Nintendo Entertainment System game, created by Tecmo in 1986. Elite Systems developed and published the Atari ST version of Mighty Bomb Jack in 1990. It is of course a sequel to the classic arcade game Bomb Jack.
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, XBox
Considered by many to be one of the scariest games ever made, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly first came out on the PlayStation 2 in 2003, with the XBox version following in 2004.
