Here’s a separate set of grabs of Bomberman Generation Battle Mode for the GameCube. The reason I think it deserves this extra set is because the Battle Mode in Bomberman Generation is arguably the best Battle Mode in any Bomberman game, and because it also has a variety of different play modes that I haven’t seen in a Bomberman game before. Bomberman Generation was developed and published by Hudson Soft – exclusively for the GameCube – in Japan in 2002. Vivendi/Majesco took care of publishing in the West.
Released in Japan only in 2001, Bomberman 64 (part deux; the second; version two) is very different to the 1997 N64 game of the same name. This game is entirely presented in 2D, with no 3D graphics in the game at all, and the package is a compendium of different single and multiplayer Bomberman games. The game was developed by Racjin for Hudson Soft. An English language fan translation is available for this title, which will please English-speaking Bomberman fans.
Bomberman 64: The Second Attack! is actually the second Bomberman sequel on the Nintendo 64, so could have been called “The Third Attack!“, but it is a direct sequel to Bomberman 64, thus the name. It was developed by Hudson Soft and published by Hudson themselves in Japan in 1999, and by Vatical Entertainment in North America in 2000, and it is another fully-3D Bomberman game.

Published by Hudson Soft in 1998, Bomberman Hero was the second Bomberman game released for the Nintendo 64. It is considerably different to the previous N64 Bomberman game (Bomberman 64), but is still set in a fully 3D environment.
Bomberman 64 was the first true 3D game in the Bomberman series (I do not count 3D Bomberman, from 1984, as a true 3D Bomberman game). It was initially released for the Nintendo 64 by Hudson Soft in 1997.
3D Bomberman (aka 3-D Bomber Man aka Sanjigen Bomberman) is an early, first-person interpretation of the Hudson Soft Bomberman concept. It was released in – Japan only – for MSX, Sharp X1, FM-7, PC-6001 and PC-8000 home computers in 1984.
In spite of the game’s title, this is not a true 3D game as it doesn’t contain any polygonal graphics, it’s just an old school way of describing a game that takes place along the ‘Z’ axis of an X,Y,Z three-dimensional grid.
Bomberman Quest is an action Role-Playing Game based on the Bomberman series that was released exclusively for the Game Boy Color in 1998. It was developed by a company called “Eleven” and published by Hudson Soft in Japan; Electro Brain in North America, and Virgin Interactive in Europe.
Pocket Bomberman was initially released for the original black and white Game Boy in 1998, and the following year it was re-worked in colour and released as a launch title for the Game Boy Color. Other than the colour enhancements, the game is pretty much identical to the OG Game Boy version, which is no bad thing as it’s an exceptional game.
Initially published in 1997 for the original black and white Game Boy, by Hudson Soft in Japan and Nintendo worldwide, Pocket Bomberman is a scrolling platform game that incorporates elements from the famous Bomberman series. And I have to say that it works exceptionally well and makes for a very good game!
