Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Dreamcast

Or – to give the game its full title – Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.

First released in arcades in 2000 and ported to the Dreamcast that same year, Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes really shows off the Dreamcast‘s amazing 2D (and 3D) graphics capabilities, with huge, detailed sprites jumping around the screen and incredible visual effects, amongst all the violence.

Ghouls ‘N Ghosts, Arcade

Ghouls ‘N Ghosts is the amazing 1988 sequel to Ghosts ‘N Goblins.

Although not quite as difficult as its predecessor, Ghouls ‘N Ghosts is another tough horror-themed, fantasy run-and-gun type game, but with much better graphics than the first game, and some great set pieces and boss battles.

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Arcade

Capcom‘s Cadillacs and Dinosaurs is a side-scrolling beat ’em up, based on a series of comics (and an animated TV series), and first released into arcades in 1993.

The game bears all the hallmarks of classic Capcom arcade games of the time: vivid, colourful graphics, relentless action, and violent, cartoon humour.

Shantae, Game Boy Color

Shantae is a great little platform adventure game, made for the Nintendo Game Boy Color by WayForward Technologies and published by Capcom in 2002.

The main character is a female, half-genie swashbuckler, called Shantae, and is up against the pirate Risky Boots and her band of cack-handed shipmates.
