The ColecoVision conversion of Peter Liepa and Chris Gray‘s classic Atari 8-bit game, Boulder Dash, is really quite wonderful. It was converted by Micro Lab and published on the Micro Fun label in 1984.

Boulder Dash, Atari 8-bit
Peter Liepa and Chris Gray‘s classic Boulder Dash was first released for the Atari 8-bit in 1984 (the Commodore 64 version came later).
Boulder Dash is one of those games that is very simple, but also very clever. Not to mention: extremely devious. In some levels, if you put a foot wrong, you’re toast and must re-start.
Holiday Lemmings 1993, Amiga
Although there were small Christmas demos made for Lemmings in 1991 and ’92, Holiday Lemmings 1993 was the first full retail release of a Lemmings game based on Christmas.
Lemmings 2: The Tribes, Amiga
The sequel to the brilliant Lemmings is even better than the first one, with clearer graphics and more interesting levels and gameplay.
Mr. Driller, Game Boy Color
Mr. Driller on the Game Boy Color is just as good as its parent, with colourful, cute graphics, jolly tunes, and vertical digging action.
Boulder Dash, Atari ST
A conversion of the classic Atari 8-bit/Commodore 64 puzzle game, Boulder Dash, although this one dispenses with the original levels and introduces new ones. And in my opinion, it fails because of that.
Mr. Driller, PlayStation
Namco‘s Mr. Driller first appeared in arcades in 1999, and this PlayStation version (pretty much the arcade version, plus a bunch of extras) came out in 2000.
Boulder Dash, Arcade
This 1990 arcade version of First Star‘s classic Boulder Dash dispenses with Rockford as we know (knew) him, and replaces him with a miner’s hat-wearing boy, although this doesn’t affect the game negatively.
