Jump Bug is a 1981 arcade game developed by Alpha Denshi, under contract with Hoei Corporation, and was distributed by Sega in Europe and Japan, and Rock-Ola in North America, and it’s still very much a fun game to play nowadays.

Yellow Submarine, MSX

It’s not often you get a game that’s based on a Beatles song, and Yellow Submarine for the MSX is one such rare example. Published by Takeru in 1987 Yellow Submarine is of course not an official license and was slipped out to the Japanese MSX market – on cartridge – in the hope that no one at Apple Records would notice. If they did, it appears that nothing was done about it.

Terra Cresta II, PC Engine

This 1992 sequel to the arcade classic Terra Cresta is a PC Engine exclusive – it did not appear in arcades first.

It’s more of a remake than a sequel, but is incredibly varied and a more than worthy successor to Terra Cresta. As far as mainstream ‘Bullet Hell’ shooters go there are few better.
