Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, PlayStation 2

Developed by Polyphony Digital and first published by Sony in 2001, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec is the third in the famous series of driving games on the PlayStation. This time, on the PlayStation 2. And it is just as good as you might imagine…

Those familiar with the PS2‘s hardware capabilities were amazed by the upgrade to Gran Tursmo 3‘s visuals. Those familiar with Polyphony Digital‘s design capabilities were equally amazed by how incredibly tight everything looked. From the menus to the track graphics, to the HUD, to the cars… Everything in Gran Turismo 3 is higher resolution and more refined and detailed. But not high definition… 🙂

Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec came on one DVD disc and once again offers an “Arcade Mode” and “Gran Turismo Mode” (aka Simulation Mode) from a single load. And yet with much more detail. Such was the leap from CD-ROMs to DVDs…

Definitely a game to own for your real hardware, and arguably even the best game in the entire Gran Turismo series, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec lives on in history as one of the greatest console driving games ever made.
