Although Capcom‘s Mega Man might feel like a Nintendo exclusive (because it primarily appeared on Nintendo systems), he was given an appearance on the Sega Game Gear, courtesy of US Gold in 1995.
Developed by Freestyle, Mega Man on the Game Gear is an amalgamation of Mega Man 4 and Mega Man 5 on the NES. Like all good Mega Man games, you can choose between four initial stages at the beginning, with each stage having a boss fight at the end. Stone Man, Napalm Man, Bright Man and Star Man await Mega Man, and if he manages to defeat those, a fifth and final stage is unlocked, with Wave Man and Toad Man waiting as bosses.
Mega Man can perform a slide move (first seen in Mega Man 3), and can also call his dog, Rush, for assistance. Plus, he can also charge up his gun for a bigger shot.
Like most Mega Man games, this is a tough challenge with simple rules, but is fun to play while the honeymoon lasts.
