The MSX version of Ultimate‘s classic isometric action adventure, Alien 8, is almost identical to the ZX Spectrum original – including slowdown caused by sound effects playing and lots of on-screen movement.
Graphically – and in terms of gameplay and puzzles – MSX Alien 8 is no different to the original, which is a good thing because this is (and always will be) a great little game.
There’s a short tune on the title screen, which is different (and more jolly) than the one heard in the original, but otherwise: all the audio is the same as the original too
Jaleco published this in Japan in 1986, and I believe Ultimate themselves made it available in Europe at the very end of 1985.
