Jungle Strike, Game Gear

The second game in the “Strike Series“, Jungle Strike on the Game Gear is more of the same isometric scrolling action in a helicopter. This time there are five missions to undertake, in various different environments.

Jungle Strike starts, not in the jungle, but in Washington DC, where you must search and destroy some terrorists who have come in to “renovate the reflecting pool“, and then you must protect the presidential motorcade (just imagine it’s someone else).

Subsequent missions include islands and a bridge (and a driveable hovercraft), a terrorist training camp, and – eventually – the jungle. So rather than setting the game entirely in a jungle, the developers have gone for variety instead. Which is great.

Each mission is multi-part. When you bring up your map (by pressing Start) you can cycle through your targets to see what’s priority. You basically have to go for the targets that are numbered, by priority, one by one.

Jungle Strike on the Game Gear was developed by Unexpected Development and first published by Black Pearl Software in 1995. It is another successful conversion of an excellent game and is still well worth playing today.

Jungle Strike for Game Gear level codes/passwords:

Note: I’ve noticed that the vast majority of websites with level codes for this game have the code for campaign five wrong, and it doesn’t work. I’ve tested all these codes and they all work – including the code for campaign five. It goes to show that all the websites with the incorrect code have simply copied each other and have not tested the codes. Which, to me, is utterly lazy conduct.

Campaign 2: 1B7L1FF4
Campaign 3: 212G1PK4
Campaign 4: 00JG9W64
