An Amstrad conversion of the minor hit, Sir Lancelot, which was first seen on the ZX Spectrum. It was published by Melbourne House in 1984.
Sir Lancelot is simple platform game where you play as the man himself, – Sir Lancelot! – and must collect glowing objects scattered around a castle. You must avoid contact with guards and animals, over the span of 24 levels. Collecting the final object in each room opens the exit to the next room.
The Amstrad version allows you to play the levels in any order, whereas the Spectrum version is sequential. The Amstrad version also has a high score table, which the Spectrum version does not.
The chunky, colourful Amstrad graphics work well, and the gameplay is fast and fluid enough to be reasonably enjoyable.
Overall, Sir Lancelot on the Amstrad is still worth a play today.
