Developed by The Code Monkeys and published by Accolade in 1991, Turrican on the Game Boy is a decent scrolling run-and-gun shooter.

It’s fairly close to the C64 original, in terms of level layouts, and the gameplay is as good as you could hope for on the Game Boy. Or maybe not, because I did think of a few enhancements this game could’ve had as I was playing it. 😉

If I had any complaints it would probably be the music, which isn’t great. I think you can turn it off, though. Otherwise, Game Boy Turrican is just as good as the original. Even though it’s monochrome, it still plays nicely.
