Although Auf Wiedersehen Monty is seen as a weak link in the classic Monty Mole series by some people, I’ve always very much liked it.
I liked the ideas; I liked Monty‘s new jump animation; I liked the variety.
The Commodore 16 conversion of Auf Wiedersehen Monty unfortunately loses the new jump animation, which is a pity, although it does manage to retain the feel – and the fun – of the Spectrum original, but in a bare bones, stripped-down form.
The graphics are nicely-coloured (taking advantage of the C16 extended palette) and the game is challenging without being too difficult.
A very good Commodore 16 title, but a conversion, rather than an original game.
