Sega‘s classic ice-pushing arcade maze game, Pengo, is well-represented on the Game Gear, with this jolly conversion by Coreland Technology (the original developer of Pengo arcade). It was first released in 1990 in Japan, and 1991 in Europe. It doesn’t look like it had a North American release.
As Pengo you must squash the chasing Sno-Bees by pushing ice blocks at them. If you manage to do it quick enough you get a bonus.
The graphics are tiny, but manage to retain the character of the original. The gameplay is good, with sharp controls. There’s little to fault, other than it could’ve maybe done with an extra game mode or two. But it’s otherwise a fun time with Sega‘s favourite penguin.
