The Last Blade is arguably THE BEST beat ’em up on the Neo Geo, which is saying something as that particular platform is awash with beat ’em ups.
It was first released by SNK in 1997 and is a superlative weapons-based fighting game which features different styles of play, combos, deflects, and Super Cancels.
The computer AI is good enough to give even the toughest opponent a half decent game, but obviously The Last Blade is best played against friends. In multiplayer mode.
