Shaun Southern‘s Commodore 16 version of his hit bike game, Kikstart, is somewhat different to the original Commodore 64 version.
This one is a straightforward, single-player, race-to-the-checkpoint survival game, rather than a split-screen assault course. It works very well, but is ultimately quite limited. You only have accelerate, brake, and jump, and the game is basically about timing jumps and speeds correctly.
If you crash, the game drops you at the next available safe place to resume the course, even if it isn’t safe… And if multiple unfair deaths don’t get you, the rapidly decreasing timer will…
Kikstart is a fun game for a while. Definitely a classic game on the Commodore 16.
