Blagger was Tony Crowther‘s attempt at a Manic Miner clone on the C64. It was first published by Alligata Software way back in 1983.
And it’s an okay clone. Blagger is very challenging; requiring precision jumping and a plan for each stage. You can easily set off in the wrong direction and end up in a position where you can’t complete a stage, so quickly working out a route is the first task on any level (and there are 30 levels in total).
These early platform games can be very frustrating, and Blagger is one of those games. It’s fun to a degree, but nothing special.
