Donkey Kong Jr., Arcade

Nintendo didn’t waste any time getting a sequel to their arcade hit Donkey Kong into arcades, releasing Donkey Kong Jr. just a year later, in 1982.

Again, both Shigeru Miyamoto and Gunpei Yokoi designed the game, this time featuring Mario as the ‘bad guy’ (having now caged Kong and holding him hostage at the top of the screen), and Kong’s son as the playable hero. Again: the player has four different screens to play through.

Donkey Kong Jr. is a fun game, although not in the same league as Donkey Kong, in my opinion.
